Corporate Graduate Scheme

We only take a small number of outstanding candidates onto our Corporate Graduate Scheme each year, and by doing so we can ensure that those applicants who are successful are given genuinely great experiences, support, development opportunities and a suitable level of responsibility from day one of the two-year training programme.

The closing dates for our 2010 Graduate intake is 28th February 2010.

General Operations Management – this is the vital link between our outlets and head office. It is the role of retail operations to ensure that all of our outlets are run profitably and safely, protecting the interests of both our shareholders and our customers.

Human Resources - Providing highly motivated, well trained staff through effective selection, training and development and administrative processes.

Purchasing - Developing product and service solutions through a number of specialist commercial functions such as Food and Drink, Equipment and Services Purchasing as well as Logistics and Electronic Leisure.

Finance - Providing a comprehensive financial and administrative service to the business through areas such as Financial Accounting, Treasury, Management Accounting and Taxation.

Business Solutions through I.T. - Assists the management and operations of Mitchells & Butlers to build an efficient, effective and competitive business through the application of technology. IT is a major enabler of and catalyst for business change.

Operational Marketing - Developing and implementing brand marketing and promotional strategies across our outlets and carrying out consumer research to constantly evaluate the consumer relevance of our brands.

Property Management - a wide ranging department involving 2 key areas:

Building Management – managing the maintenance, minor and major refurbishment, and conversions of brands across the estate.

Asset Management – covering Estate Management, Acquisitions and Portfolio Development.

The two-year programme has been designed to create Senior Managers within Mitchells & Butlers. Throughout the scheme you will do a real job. You will be developed as a Manager and you will benefit from frequent reviews, specialist training and senior management mentoring. In short, your maxim will be 'learn fast, perform brilliantly'.
